"Memories are all we have." |
I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and there’s only 4 to go until I’m full term. Pretty incredible!
Jonah’s nursery is nearly done. We have some finishing touches before we start posting photos, but we are both very happy with it. There is no theme; instead it combines all of our favorite things like trains, dinosaurs, books, dots, robots, and Snoopy. We wanted it to have the feel of a nursery, but also be a place he can grow into. I’ve been non-stop nesting, that’s for sure.
Luckily I’ve had the nursery to work on and keep myself occupied, because other than that this pregnancy is not getting any easier on me! About 3 weeks ago I got a pretty bad urinary tract infection. I was able to get antibiotics and got rid of the infection, but unfortunately it brought back all of my IC symptoms and some of the Fibro symptoms as well. I had been in a sort of remission for most of the second trimester and into the beginning of the third, but the UTI ended all that. It took a week before the denial that it was back wore away and I realized it was time to get back on my diet. No more pizza or chocolate or delicious fruits. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thankful for the couple of months without severe bladder pain, and not to mention dietary freedom—and I certainly made the most of it! I have to admit though, I was expecting the remission to last until at least the end of the pregnancy, so when it came much sooner than I anticipated some mild depression came along with it. Pregnancy is uncomfortable enough without all the added pain, so now I am re-learning how to cope with the IC/FMS pain in addition to all this third trimester craziness. It’s making getting through 40 hours of work a week nearly impossible, and forget about sleep! A couple nights ago I decided to count how many times I woke up during my attempt at 8 hours of sleep. I woke up 23 times to readjust; about 10 of those involved trips to the bathroom. That’s been the norm for weeks now. I suppose it’s good practice for when the baby comes, but it would have been nice to get lots of sleep before he comes, since it would be the last good sleep I would have gotten to quite some time. But what can you do?
Other than all that, my mom and sister threw me a really nice baby shower in South Florida and I have an Orlando one coming up soon thrown by my BFF along with some other wonderful ladies. There’s one more big event after that (my brother-in-law’s wedding) and then before I know it, Jonah will get sick of living in my belly and will join the rest of us in this crazy world. Am I a little nervous? Sure. Am I super excited to meet this little jumping bean that’s been living inside me for 8 months? Absolutely! Here’s hoping the next 8 weeks are manageable and go by quickly. March is just around the corner!
